Charge your phone with the plug you forgot at home… or in your car? You sheepishly ask a co-worker for a cable. As they rummage through their bag, you check your device furtively, anxious to remind yourself: “I’m on 1%.”

This poem was inspired by and is a response to the following writing prompt:
“A rested mind is a creative mind, a rested body is a productive body. Don’t underestimate the power of rest. It can recharge you, refocus you and ultimately help you accomplish more than a weary mind and body ever could.”
“We often care for our phone batteries better than we care for our minds. Your mind, just like your phone battery, gets depleted after running all day. You need to take time to “recharge” your brain in order to show up for your life.”
