There’s a place for you in my heart.
These past four months, some moments ring.
For me, this is where we start:
…
“Hey, that’s a good-lookin’ muffin.” Ultrasmart.
I looked up at you and felt a thought take wing:
“There’s a place for you in my heart.”
…
When I made you an apple pie, sweet and tart,
you asked me that night if we could be a thing.
For me, this is where we start.
…
But, you didn’t bother with trying to impart
when you first kissed me in the parking lot. Zing!
There’s a place for you in my heart.
…
Your ‘I love you’ was the true musical art
in the car while I was attempting to sing.
For me, this is where we start.
…
Living through all these sparks, my dear counterpart,
is now what causes my feelings for you to spring:
“There’s a place for you in my heart.
For me, this is where we start.”
