Inside my heart, there’s a chamber,
one that I rarely let anyone see.
It’s a dusty, old back room
carefully kept under lock and key.
I live in there a lot.
It houses my soul.
I think you could even say it’s me.
On long, infinite shelves,
covered in the darkness, dust and cobwebs,
coated in my shameful sin and imperfections,
it houses my deepest secrets,
my most precious and priceless treasures.
In the center, on a basic table,
there’s a shining, sparkling Diamond,
glowing and giving off light.
It’s huge and priceless, flawless and white.
It attracts your attention with its loveliness and might.
But, look again at the Diamond.
Step closer. To examine it, peer through
the magnifying glass I keep there,
for me and for you.
Then, pick it up, look through it and see the room.
“Gasp!” you might cry, “How could it be?”
For, through this Flawless Diamond,
the dust, the old, the dark is gone!
I’m not the same me!
Nothing is wrong!
It drips with blood, and thus cleans the room!
It makes everything new again, no longer a tomb!
It shines with light and eliminates the darkness!
It transforms the space so it’s white and spotless!
My dusty, old, dark back room,
is now clean, light, new and white.
Its shelves are orderly and neat,
by the existence of this Diamond, my Centerpiece.
I call this Flawless Diamond Jesus,
who died on a cross and rose again
for my dusty back room and yours, too,
so He could be with us forever,
if we so choose.
I will simply say that I have chosen Him,
so I will no longer be afraid.
For, truly, He makes my dusty, old back room clean anew,
and He lives in me forever and today.
There is beauty from His pain.
There is beauty from His pain.
Forever living in me,
There is beauty from His pain.
