Each delicate petal
heartshaped with grace
slowly peeled open
despite the pricks
that pinched each finger
with the proper disgrace.
And when it was fully open
it’s beauty was grand
tingled each nosebud
dazzled red eye glance.
But some hardships
and some cruel hands
made each delicacy disappear,
tucked away in distant bud-land
never to boast about its need near.
So when the time came
to open up once more
beauty was tightly packed up
and not blooming as before.
And what will it take to open it up?
Nought but the latter,
for everyone knows
beauty is unveiled
only
with trust.
